Former Qantas executive Karen Tsolakis has joined American Express Global Business Travel as its new head of corporate sales and development Japan, Asia Pacific and Australia.

Tsolakis, who was previously head of industry and corporate sales at Qantas, will lead the sales efforts targeting latge and multi-national companies across the region.

 

Jetstar has operated its first direct service from Melbourne to Tokyo Narita. Flight JQ23 departed the Victorian capital last night.

 

Creative Holidays has released its famil schedule with trips planned to Malaysia, China, Abu Dhabi, Mauritius, US and the Cook Islands.

The wholesaler urged agents interested in taking part to speak to their sales managers.

"In 2013 we hosted over 400 agents and we’re on track for another busy year with multiple departures scheduled every month," Creative head of sales and distribution Jasna Stevanja said.

“We know that consumers trust first-hand knowledge and referrals based on personal experience so our goal is to provide agents with the confidence to sell that only having walked the streets, tasted the local food and interacted with locals provides."

 

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts and Parkroyal Hotels and Resorts have launched new websites following a S$2 million investment.

The hotel group said the sites will provide consumers with a “more engaging user experience, richer promotional content and social media integration”.
