Travellers flying from Australia to other destinations worldwide via Guangzhou can now stay in the Chinese city for 72 hours visa-free in a new move which brings it in line with Beijing and Shanghai.

Australia is one of 45 countries granted the 72 hour visa-free status under the move.

China Southern Airlines general manager Australia, Henry He, described it as "wonderful news".

"It makes it easier for international travellers to stop over in our wonderful hub city," he said.

P&O Cruises has been awarded the accolade of Australia's most trusted cruise line as Reader's Digest added the new category to its 2013 Trusted Brands Survey.

The addition of cruise lines to the categories reflects the recent surge in the popularity of cruising among Australians, according to P&O Cruises senior vice president Tammy Marshall.

"To be included among the likes of Dulux, Colgate, Guide Dogs and Cadbury as one of Australia's most trusted brands is testament to our team's commitment to delivering great holidays as well as the loyalty of our many wonderful passengers," she said.

The launch of a new preview brochure for Travelmarvel's Vietnam & Cambodia product aims to offer a "small taste" of the forthcoming program.

Each of the three featured itineraries in the program include an eight-day Mekong River cruise aboard RV La Marguerite, but two have been lengthened as feedback found that guests were keen to spend more time in each location.

APT general manager marketing Debra Fox reported an "exceptional year" for the program in 2013 and is confident the new offering will build on that success.

Excite Holidays has appointed Colleen Sutcliffe, formerly of Scenic and Evergreen, as its new reservations manager.
