The Ecruising group of companies has appointed Aurora Walker, formerly of Corporate Travel Management, as its general manager of ecruising.travel.

In addition, Bertha Harvey, previously of Carnival Australia, will join as a new marketing team member.

 

Tempo Holidays is offering 25% discount on Greece and Turkey cruises when booked and paid in full by May 31.

Under the offer, the eight-day Dodecanese Mosaic cruise is priced from $1543 per person.

 

The FastFares sale on Cathay Pacific services to Hong Kong and destinations across China includes economy fares from Sydney to Hong Kong from $847 and business fares from Perth to Hong Kong from $5,302.

The offer is available until May 22 for selected travel dates.

 

The number of Australians staying with friends and family on domestic holidays is on the decline, down 6 percentage points since March 2011 to 35%, according to a new survey by Roy Morgan Research.

The proportion of those paying for hotels and motels rose 5 percentage points to 30% while rented accommodation rose 2 percentage points to 17%.

Meanwhile, the popularity of caravans and cabins fell from 12% to 9% of domestic travellers.

 

Expedition cruise line, Aurora Expeditions, has locked in an exchange rate of AU$1:US$1 for all upcoming 2013 voyages to Antarctica this 2013/14 season as the Australian dollar shows signs of weakening.

 

Zurich Airport has been named the world's best airport in the 20 to 30 million passenger category in the Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The airport also took the accolades for best baggage claim service for the fourth consecutive year and for having the best airport staff in Europe.
