The AOT Group has appointed Mark Windsor to the role of general manager contracting.

Windsor was most recently groups development manager at the Globus family of brands Australasia. “We are pleased to have Mark on board in this pivotal role heading up our experienced Contracting Team. He brings with him a wealth of travel experience and we are sure his contribution will deliver positive results across the business,” AOT chief operating officer Cinzia Burnes said.

 

Asia travel specialist Travel Indochina has collaborated with destination experts and resident journalists to launch a microsite dedicated to Burma.

The site features images and information about key cities and provides insights into the country’s complexities with a number of editorial pieces from journalists and bloggers including Burma resident and sub editor of the country’s first English language daily Myanmar Freedom Daily, Jessica Muddit.

 

Ayers Rock Resort will partner with the Centre of Excellence for All-sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO) to will hold an Uluru Astronomy Weekend from Friday August 22 to 24.

Hosted by popular scientific personality Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, the weekend will be a “celebration of the vast outback night sky.

 

MSC Cruises has signed an agreement with Italian ship-building company Fincantieri for an additional two megaships with an option for a third.

The value of the project is €2.1 billion ($3.2 billion), with the new ships to be “completely different from an architectural point of view”.

Australian Zip Line Canopy Tours has been invited to submit a more detailed proposal for a zipline canopy project in Queensland’s Kondalilla National Park.

“The zipline will enable public access to the national park with minimal impact, while showcasing the area’s natural beauty and promoting the value of conservation,” Sunshine Coast Destination Limited chief executive Simon Ambrose said.
