This afternoon, Fiji Airways will launch its inaugural direct service from Sydney to Suva.

The airline will now operate direct flights twice weekly, aboard the B737-700 aircraft.

 

Etihad has highlighted the importance of its new Abu Dhabi-Perth route for tourism and trade between the UAE and Western Australia.

Speaking at a business lunch in Abu Dhabi, president and chief executive James Hogan said the new service, which commences on July 15 would cater to strong demand for travel between the two destinations.

“We are confident our new services will boost travel and trade between the UAE and Western Australia, and strengthen our presence in Australia, where we already serve Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with great success,” he said.

The new flights to Perth will deliver an additional 3,668 seats between Abu Dhabi and Australia, increasing its flights between the two countries from 28 to 35 per week.

 

APT has announced the dates and destinations of its May webinars that provide information on various APT cruise products and places.

The webinars will be held on Wednesday May 21 and Tuesday May 27, with APT urging travel agents to sign their clients up on their website.

 

Creative Holidays has extended its bonus commission offer for the month of May. Agents now have an extra month to take advantage of a bonus 15% commission on all land, and an added 2% on air.

The extension coincides with the release of a range of new tactical deals, including competitive airfares and school holiday specials in Bali, Thailand, Fiji and Hawaii. 

 

Tasmania’s iconic Cradle Mountain Huts Walk will now be available during winter months, with 8-day treks now available in the World Heritage-listed region.

Small groups of no more than 10 will be able to walk through Lake St Clair National Park, along the Overland Track, with two highly experienced guides, and experience the winter wonderland.

 

Urban Adventures has launched a free iPhone app, which recommends the best places to visit in Philadelphia, including ten drinking spots favoured by locals.

The Philadelphia Urban Adnventures Treasure mApp is free, and suggests a selection of the city's best bars, pubs, live music venues, eateries, and places known only to the locals.
