Members of the travel industry gathered last Thursday to celebrate the official launch of Helloworld Mackay and helloworld Mt Pleasant.

Nearly 500 guests, including clients, business people, helloworld staff and suppliers attended the event, which marked the transition of both businesses from the Harvey World Travel brand.

The launch was held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, with guests treated to an around-the-world culinary experience, while holiday images were projected onto the walls.

A high stakes game of ‘heads or tails’ was also played, giving participants the chance to win an APT European River Cruise worth $20,000.

Helloworld Mackay and Mt Pleasant director John Cooney said the event was a successful showcasing of the new-look stores.

“Moving across to the new Helloworld brand has inspired our business and we wanted to celebrate the occasion in a big way,” Cooney said.

“This event gave us an opportunity to reflect on our history as we look towards the future for our business as Helloworld Mackay and Mt Pleasant,” Cooney said.
