Germany brings roadshow to Australia
By admin

The German National Tourist Office, in partnership with visitBerlin and airberlin, held its Destination Germany Roadshow in Australia last week.

The week saw successful trivia nights held for almost 350 travel industry professionals in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, as well as a media event in Sydney.

The purpose of the roadshow was to showcase new offers and the diversity of products and experiences available throughout Germany, as well as to highlight the GNTB’s current UNESCO and Germany ’25 reunified’ campaigns.

Event participants learned about Germany’s UNESCO heritage routes, as well as the new destinations and perspectives available to travellers since Germany’s reunification. At the end of each event, one lucky winner was awarded the major prize of a trip for two people to Germany.

"visitBerlin was proud to be a major partner for this year’s Destination Germany roadshow," Ralf Ostendorf, director of market management for visitBerlin, said.

"Events such as these act as important updates for the industry to learn about the new developments in a destination, and help the trade increase their confidence and knowledge.

"Later this year, the world will look to Berlin once more to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall – there are so many exciting events happening and we hope Australians will join in the celebrations.”
