Etihad to boost WA tourism
By admin

Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) has welcomed Etihad Airways announcement of daily flights between Perth and Abu Dhabi from July next year.

The direct A330-200 service will introduce 95,000 inbound seats to Western Australia each year and build on existing United Arab Emirates arrival figures in Australia, which are up 22.2% from last year.

"Attracting more international services to Perth has been a big focus for Tourism WA over the past four years and it is pleasing to see those efforts bearing fruit," TTF chief executive Ken Morrison said.

"For many travellers, convenience is a factor in their decision making, so one-stop flights remove a critical barrier by reducing travel time and making access easier."

TTF has contributed to the Western Australian government's review of aviation strategy with the results to be published next year.
