TravelManager’s personal travel manager, Robbie Barrett, is collecting bras for Fijian women, following a recent holiday that revealed a greater need for women in remote areas of Fiji.

After numerous trips to Fiji, Barrett and family chose to visit the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort on Nacula Island, in the remote Northern Yasawa Islands, giving them the chance to engage with the local community.

On returning from this trip, the Dubbo travel manager and her family wanted to contribute to the local community by giving the Fijian women something as basic as a bra.

“My daughter noticed the majority of women were not wearing bras,” said Barrett.

“They [Fijian women] explained how difficult it was to get to Nadi and how expensive it is to purchase items such as underwear, bras and personal care items. This lead to my quest to collect as many bras that I could to send back to Fiji.”

Upon returning from her trip, Barrett used her connections and tools as a travel manager to create a campaign, sharing it via email with her colleagues.

So far, Barrett has received over 100 donated bras to send back to the women of Fiji, specifically on Nacula Island.

“We congratulate Robbie for her work within the Fijian community,” said executive general manager of TravelManagers, Michael Gazal.

“Her genuineness, proactive and thinking outside the box approach is an inspiration to all personal travel managers.”
