As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Avalon Waterways has announced its maiden itineraries on the Amazon River in its recently released 2014 brochure.

Launching the offering in Sydney last night, the company announced that from February it will operate the 45 metre, 16 suite Aria on South America's most famous waterway. The three-day cruise will form part of a larger 11-day itinerary, departing from Lima.

In its key market Europe, next year will see the operator launch three new vessels, the Avalon Impression, Avalon Poetry II and Avalon Illumination. The launch of these vessels will bring to eight the number of Suite Ships in the fleet of 13 vessels the company operates in Europe.

Also new for Europe in 2014 are a series of tailored itineraries that focus on beer tasting, wellness, golf and World War I history. Avalon will offer 26 different European itineraries next year, with sailings on the Rhine, Moselle, Main, Danube, Seine, Sa√¥ne and Rh√¥ne rivers.
