"Aussified" Carnival Legend ready for Down Under debut
By admin

Carnival Legend is now ready for the Australian market, following the completion of an extensive renovation process undertaken in dry dock in the Bahamas in February.

The cruise liner will join sister ship, Carnival Spirit, in Australia on September 22, featuring many of the same Aussie features that have helped to establish the cruise line in Australia, along with the Australian debut of a number of new features and facilities.

Upgrades include the addition of new coffee machines, a Red Frog Pub, a Bonsai Sushi outlet, candy store Cherry On Top and the steepest and fastest waterslide at sea,Green Thunder, which was devised with the Australian market in mind.

In addition, Carnival Legend will launch Playlist Productions in Australia – a range of new shows that combining short live performances with special effects – along with life-size versions of popular childhood games such as Connect4 and Operation.

Carnival Spirit has been so warmly received by Australians these past 18 months, so we are excited to be welcoming sister ship Carnival Legend as a new holiday option for Australia,” Carnival Cruise Lines vice president Australia and New Zealand Jennifer Vandekreeke said.

“We’ve listened to what Australians love most about Carnival Spirit, and took into account the latest trends in hospitality on shore here in Australia and in the US to design the best upgrades for Carnival Legend.

“The result is a ship filled with delicious dining destinations, thrilling waterslides, vast spaces to chill out with a cocktail in hand, and a myriad of entertainment options. It’s a new and different experience in Australian waters.”
