Air Seychelles launches new Australia link

Air Seychelles will codeshare with equity partner Etihad Airways to offer a new link between the Republic of Seychelles and Australia via Abu Dhabi.

Daily connections will be available to the destination from both Melbourne and Sydney, with three times weekly services available to both cities on the return leg.

Air Seychelles chief executive, Cramer Ball, said the new link will offer the airline's guests "seamless connectivity" to and from Australia over Abu Dhabi.

"Not only does this offer more opportunity for Australian business and leisure travellers to come to Seychelles, but it also introduces a simple and appealing travel option for Seychellois travelling to Sydney and Melbourne," he said.

"Australia hosts the largest Seychellois diaspora in the world and, as the naional airline of Seychelles, we are proud to introduce a new air link between the two countries."

The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for air services between the Republic of Seychelles and the Australian Government on January 18. It takes Air Seychelles' network to a total of 25 destinations worldwide.
