Accor embarks on APAC recruitment push
By admin

Accor Asia Pacific has embarked upon a major recruitment drive with the hotel giant seeking to grow its workforce by 10,000 staff members each year until 2016 in order to fuel its network expansion.

The rapid growth of its Australian portfolio is likely to produce 2,500 new roles by 2016.

The company confirmed the bulk of the new recruits are likely to come from China, Indonesia and India, but all regions will be a focus of the drive.

“The profiles we are looking for are mainly entry level staff for our front office, food & beverage, kitchen and housekeeping departments, which constitute the heart of our hotels,” Patrick Ollivier, senior vice president human resources Asia Pacific, said.

“But we are also recruiting experts to join our sales, distribution, finance and HR teams and experienced hoteliers to manage our hotels.”

Accor acknowledged the shortage of staff currently being experienced by the hospitality industry, and put forward its own hotel school as a major selling point for prospective candidates amid the competitive environment.
