10 destinations seeing huge influx of travellers

Airbnb has revealed the top ten destinations for bookings in 2017, showing a huge increase compared with bookings made this time last year.

According to Business InsiderAirbnb has taken a peek at some of the places around the world that copped a massive influx of travellers this time last year.

The following are the top ten destinations where Airbnb properties have seen more than double the amount of bookings since this time in 2016.

1. Rosarito Mexico

Rosarito Beach, Mexico

Bookings in the upscale beach town of Rosarito, Mexico have been up by 231 per cent.

2. Destin Florida

Destin, Florida.

Bookings to the summer spot of Destin has risen 232 per cent.

3. Prince Edward, Canada

The stunning island in Canada is on demand, with a booking increase of 243 per cent.

4. Scarborough, England

The coastal resort town of Scarborough has seen bookings up 258 per cent.

5.  Hanoi, Vietnam

In the cultural and historic hub of Hanoi, Airbnb bookings have jumped 261 per cent.

6. Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Over the past few years, Johor Bahru has really come alive, and growing as a tourist destination. Airbnb bookings are up 262 per cent.

7. Levanto, Italy 

Levanto Beach, Liguria Italy

The majestic town of Levanto, hidden between the idyllic hills of Italy, has reason for its growing popularity. Bookings for Airbnb have risen an impressive 313 per cent.

8. Tainan, Taiwan

Pu Ji Temple Lantern Festival

Located in East Asia, Taiwan is bursting with life and culture. Airbnb bookings are up by 424 per cent.

9. Salou, Spain 

Rocky seashore in Catalonia

Popular with families, Salou is beach side beauty, located in just south of Tarragona. Airbnb bookings have climbed 463 per cent.

10. La Ciotat, France 

Yachts reflecting in blue water in La Ciotat

Tranquil town of La Coitat has reached the highest percentage growth of Airbnb bookings, staggering a 675 per cent increase.
