Global distribution services company Galileo International has extended the fare guarantee period for Asia Pacific subscribers.
Galileo’s new fare guarantee applies from the time of filing the fare to midnight local time in each of the 18 Asia Pacific markets that the Cendant Corporation subsidiary serves.
“Our extended fare guarantee supports the increased level of fares validation of our Galileo 360 Degrees Fares program because it provides a longer time frame for agents to issue tickets against specific fare quotes, safe in the knowledge that there is no danger of receiving an ADM,” Galileo senior solutions manager Debi Ellison said.
“Currently no other GDS offers a longer guarantee consistently throughout the region than Galileo. We actually exceed the fare guarantee period of two of our competitors in most Asia Pacific markets.”
Hong Kong-based Carlson Wagonlit Travel general manager Greg Treasure said the new fare guarantee would enhance productivity and enhance accuracy for the retail network’s automated ticketing functions.
“Our corporate customers will value the longer validity of quoted fares which in turn will give them more flexibility in their travel arrangements,” Treasure said.
