Switzerland Tourism has launched their 2014 campaign at an event last night in honour of Swiss National Day.

The tourism board's marketing theme this year is Living Tradition and emphasises Switzerland's environment and century-old traditions. Come 2014, the focus will be on Vistas, or views.

Travellers to the European nation are encouraged to slow down and appreciate the mountainscape typical of Switzerland.

Part of this campaign is the Swiss Mountain Peak Pass, which allows travellers to visit the more unknown mountains of Switzerland. The pass program will begin at the start of 2014 and cost $35 for a four-day pass and $71 for an eight-day pass.

Last night's event featured St. Bernard dogs and gruyere cheese fondue while the audience heard that youth travel is on the rise.
