Onesies part of overnight NZ bus service

Onesies part of overnight NZ bus service
By admin

Harry Potter's triple-decker Knight Bus may have had hot chocolate and a charming attendant, but it didn't offer patrons free onesies.

Naked Bus is rolling out New Zealand's first ever overnight service, allowing travellers to doze in beds complete with sheets, blankets and pillows.

Wifi will be available, food and drink will be delivered to passengers' seats and, for a limited time only, the company's offering night bus customers free onesies.

The service will ferry passengers between Auckland and Wellington with stops at Hamilton and Palmerston North, and arrive at the final destination at 7am.

Naked Bus's chief executive Hamish Nuttall said the night trips will start on December 18 – just in time for Christmas.

The 185cm beds can be converted back into seats for day travelling and Mr Nuttall said their comfort level would be similar to a business class flight.

But with prices ranging from $NZ1 to $NZ50 ($A46), the night bus would be a lot cheaper, he said.

"We believe the experience will change the way people view travelling by bus."

The company's trialling the new service to begin with but will consider adding new routes and services depending on how well it's received.
