Aussie agents take a trip to Globus HQ

Globus has hosted eleven Australian group travel agents on a visit to their headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland.

In a first for an Australian Globus famil the agents were shown the operations departments of Cosmos, Globus, Monograms and Avalon Waterways.

Switzerland was chosen as the famil destination because it is where founder Antonio Mantegazza started Globus in 1928, with the Globus family of brands acquiring Cosmos in 1962.

The agents secured a place on the 10-day Cosmos Grand Tour of Switzerland product for a high group sales record.

They include Ebony Sayers from Jayes Travel; George Vella from Breakaway Travel; Susan Anderberg from Macleay Valley Travel; Joanne Rea from Escape Travel Caloundra; Madeleine Irving from  IYC Travel; Jasmin Knopfel from HWT Garden City; Hillary Packer from Jetset Mitcham; Mandy Smith from Helloworld Devonport; Joanne Rickard of The World @ Braeside Travel; Emily Turner of Travel Plus Travel Service and Veronica Ciccarone from Bicton Travel and Cruise Centre.

The group was introduced to the key contacts across the 155-strong staff.

“We are in the process of merging Globus and Cosmos in the same office,” Globus Europe executive director Marco Sorbara said.
