10 sexy Australian hotel rooms
We suss out Australia's top 10 hotels for a romantic getaway: from intimate boudoirs to adults-only island getaways.
1. QT, SYDNEY
It's unconventional, fun and has a bit of burlesque thrown in to warm things up. The rooms feature reddish floor-length drapes, fur throws, large baths and open plan duo shower heads.
The mini bar comes with all the ingredients for a hot night in: condoms and DIY martini sets. Internet and the movie channel are free (even those special movies).
QT's other properties in Canberra, Port Douglas, Falls Creek and the Gold Coast.
2. THE HENRY JONES ART HOTEL, HOBART
Located on Hobart's historic waterfront, The Henry Jones offers first class accommodation. Exotic silk covers envelop the king beds and the rooms feature translucent glass bathrooms with duo shower heads.
One of the best rooms in the house is the H Jones Suite with its sok overflowing bath by Kohler – an ultra-deep air bath designed with a continuous cascading overflow and champagne-like bubbles.
3. PAPERBARK CAMP, JERVIS BAY, NSW
It's the perfect mix of romance with a little camping danger throw in (you might see a snake).
For the ultimate romantic camping experience try the King Deluxe tent with a free standing bath and outdoor bush shower.
When the sun goes down, light the candles and you'll find yourself canoodling among the gum trees.
4. LONGITUDE 131, ULURU, NT
No doubt Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoyed an unforgettable romantic night recently under the stars at this luxe resort.
Tents come with wall-length windows offering uninterrupted views of the north side of Uluru, draped canvas roofs evoking thoughts of Arabian Nights, as well as the typical five-star hotel comforts of luxurious bedding and spotless bathrooms.
5. HUSKI LUXURY ACCOMMODATION, FALLS CREEK, VICTORIA
Hot toddies, snow, Alpine air, hot tub on the balcony, what more do you need for a romantic getaway? This property is located in the heart of Falls Creek Village and features 14 self-contained apartments. These range in size from studio apartments to a four bedroom split-level penthouse that sleeps 10.
6. EL QUESTRO, WA
It's wild, rugged and there are cowboys out there.
Over one million acres in size, El Questro is located in WA's untamed Kimberley region.
The property's three new Cliff Side Retreats at the Homestead are situated at the edge of a sheer escarpment, overlooking the spectacular wilderness.
From the luxurious feather topped king beds that face sliding glass walls you have uninterrupted views of the Chamberlain River. There are baths on the verandah and garden rain showers surrounded by stone walls that provide complete privacy.
7. CAPELLA LODGE, LORD HOWE ISLAND, NSW
Luxurious is the best word to describe this island retreat, which comes complete with huge beds, gorgeous soft furnishings and an adults only bar.
But what really makes it sexy is the rainshower, luxe daybed, outdoor freestanding Lotus bath and private plunge pool.
8. QUALIA, HAMILTON ISLAND, QLD
Pronounced kwah-lee-ah which in Latin means "a collection of deeper sensory experiences", this five-star luxury resort is perched on Hamilton Island's northern-most tip.
Qualia's sexiness is in its seclusion and tranquility including private sun decks with breathtaking views of the Coral Sea, sumptious food and luxurious pavilions.
9. RAE'S ON WATEGOS, BYRON BAY, NSW
Nowhere says sexy like the beach, and nothing is sexier that your own private Moroccan-meets-Med suite with unobstructed views of the sea.
Opt for the Ocean View Penthouse with its marble fireplace, large Balinese four poster bed and private access to the pool and garden.
10. BEDARRA ISLAND RESORT, QLD
Bedarra is a tropical, adults-only haven.
Try the Point villa, which is secluded, isolated and has jaw-dropping views over Hernandia Bay. The large outdoor deck features a private plunge pool, daybed, sunlounge and an outdoor shower.
