Fiji adds new Wellington-Nadi flights

Fiji Airways will add a new route between Wellington and Nadi from June 2015. The new service will run twice weekly, departing Wellington on Thursday and Sunday, starting 25 June 2015.

 

A380 to Perth

Perth is set to get its first scheduled A380 services from May 2015, after Emirates announced it will increase one if its three daily services between the city and Dubai to the larger aircraft.

The change from a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will see an increase in capacity of 131 seats per flight and 1,834 seats per week from Perth.

 

Intrepid BDM’s role expansion

The Intrepid Group’s Business Development Managers has now become the largest small group adventure sales teams in AU/NZ. The move means the 20 BDMs will now represent all of the Intrepid Group brands in Australia and New Zealand – Adventure Tours Australia, Dragoman, Geckos Adventures, Intrepid Travel, Peregrine, Peregrine Reserve and Urban Adventures.

The shift to an all-inclusive brands approach will provide an unmatched ‘agent to BDM ratio’ within the travel industry, according to Intrepid.

 

CLIA Cruise3sixty speakers

Local and international cruise industry professionals will take centre stage at the upcoming Cruise3sixty Australasia conference in February.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia General Manager Brett Jardine said CLIA’s global president Christine Duffy will open the event, while Norwegian Cruise Line executive vp international sales Andy Stuart would make the keynote address followed by 20 other industry leaders including Royal Caribbean regional vp, Gavin Smith, Carnival Australia ceo, Ann Sherry and Silversea Cruises AP president, Steve Odell.

 

Emirates offers silly season sale

Emirates are offering special end of year fares for up to 37 destinations in Europe and the UK if booked by 23 December 2014 for travel after March 2015. Emirates Skywards members can also earn an additional 50% bonus miles when flying business or economy from Australia.

 

 Trafalgar #Acclaim2014

Trafalgar’s top performing agents shared some 820 social media posts whilst on their annual Acclaim trip last week, led by managing director, Matthew Cameron-Smith.

Agents took in sights and Christmas Markets of Switzerland, Austria and Germany and used a range of hashtags including #Acclaim2014, #TrafalgarInsider and #Switzerland to help drive social media advocacy across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
