A330 Business Suites unveiled

Qantas customers are set to experience a new standard of luxury on international flights to Asia, Hawaii and other key domestic routes, following the airline’s latest design of new Business Suites for its A330 fleet.

Scheduled for progressive introduction from later this year, the final design created in collaboration with Marc Newson will be available on all 28 of Qantas’ A330 aircraft.

The Suites feature fully-flat beds, direct aisle access for every Business Class passenger in a 1-2-1 layout, and the chance for passengers to recline in their seta from take-off through to landing.

The Vantage XL seat was manufactured by Thompson Aero Seating, and went through a process of trials, inflight monitoring by a panel of experts, and customer feedback to reach the final design.

Qantas Group’s chief executive officer Alan Joyce said the airline was excited to unveil the Business Suite, which would give business passengers a new level of luxury on over 15 flight routes.

“We believe this product will deliver the best travel experience between Australia and Asia,” Joyce said.

“There’s enough space to eat while continuing to work, which is something our business customers said was very important to them, and plenty of storage room to keep the range of electronic devices that people now travel with.”

The Economy cabins on all international A330s will be fitted with a next-generation model of the Recaro seat, an earlier version popular with Qantas customers on the A380 and refurbished B747 aircraft.

Economy seats on the A330-200s for Qantas Domestic will also be refreshed.
