P&O starts summer season strong

Pacific Dawn has emerged from her multi-million dollar makeover, boasting some of its new onboard products that are set to see P&O Cruises sail into a new era of Aussie cruising.

During a 10-day rest in Sydney, the Brisbane-based liner became the first in the fleet to be decked out in the cruise line’s new livery, which will be introduced across all five ships in the coming months.

Sporting navy and white along the ship’s side, the vessel shares the key message that P&O Cruises’ ships are ‘Like No Place on Earth’, with the tagline emblazoned across the stern.

A chic poolside makeover also gives a taste of the modern look the cruise line is aiming for, with fresh turf on the pool deck, new water features, lighting enhancements and private seating areas for a more resort-style vibe.

Pacific Dawn has also become the second ship in the fleet to feature the popular P&O Edge Adventure Park, with 19 adrenaline-inducing activities now offered on the ship.

Along with a funnel climb, bungy tramp and flying fox, the ship will also feature an adrenalin-induced Walk the Plank activity off the side of the top deck, a Crow’s Nest with panoramic views and a Boulder Wall for sideways rock climbing.

The main restaurant Waterfront has also had a blue-palette refresh, along with the promenade deck, public areas and staterooms.

P&O Cruises’ senior vice president Tammy Marshall said the period represents an exciting time for Australian cruising.

“We’re always looking at ways to take holidaying at sea to the next level,” she said.

“The new elements that have been added to Pacific Dawn mark the start of an exciting time of growth and change for P&O Cruises as we continue to evolve as a contemporary cruise brand that sets the trends for the local industry.”
