Singapore-based Naumi Hospitality has acquired its first hotel outside of the country, taking over the Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland Airport.

The management acquisition of the 193-room, two-hectare property will also include a rebranding under Naumi, but is yet to be named and will undergo extensive renovations to rooms, F&B and public spaces before opening in the fourth quarter of 2015.

It also marks the group’s first property with major meeting facilities, able to accommodate MICE groups of up to 200 delegates.

“This is a very exciting project for us. It will allow us to develop the boutique Naumi brand into a full-fledge millennial hospitality brand with different product concepts,” Naumi Hospitality, director, Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala said.

“With two award-winning hotels, Naumi Hotel and Naumi Liora in Singapore, this acquisition will be a big step forward and a testament to our group’s drive towards the growth of Naumi Hospitality into leading markets.”

Naumi Hospitality, part of The Hind Group, also owns and operates Ovolo Hotels in Hong Kong and Australia.
