SA kicks off tourism awards

Nominations for the South Australian Tourism Awards are now open, with the launch of a new-look awards system.

Tourism Minister Jane Lomax-Smith says this year’s awards will provide new opportunities to recognise and reward entrants, with the introduction of a three-tiered system.

“Depending on the standard of entry, entrants may be acknowledged with a gold, silver or bronze medal, while the entrant with the highest score in each category will continue to represent South Australia at the national awards,” she said.

In total, there are 31 categories this year including tour/transport operators, wineries, tourism retailing, restaurants, events, awards for outstanding individuals, B&Bs, luxury hotels, backpacker accommodation and more.

Nominations close on June 26 and submissions are due by August 21.

The Awards Presentation and Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday November 11 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
