TSAX agents find Travelkey to success

Travelscene American Express agents say the Travelkey rewards scheme, launched earlier this year to AMEX card members, is attracting more customers to their agencies.

Card members have redeemed more than 100 million Travelkey points so far.

Doug Potter, from Travelscene Burwood, said: “I think it’s fantastic and it’s definitely bringing business to my door.”

“It’s increasing our client base and I’d say the total value of new business so far is about $100,000.”

Nearly 30 per cent of points redeemed are for international air tickets, while domestic packages account for 27 per cent of points redeemed, international packages for 25 per cent and domestic air alone, 19 per cent.

Launched earlier this year, Travelkey allows for the redemption of membership rewards points to pay for any travel booking including land, cruise, motor rental, taxes, travel insurance and service fees.
