Cathay’s entertainment upgrade

Cathay Pacific has upgraded its in-flight entertainment system to incorporate intuitive navigation of movies, music, information and short feature programming.

A prototype system is in operation on the airline’s latest aircraft, an Airbus A330-300, operating on flights out of Melbourne and Sydney as well as to the Middle East. This will be followed by a fleet-wide rollout from November.

The new system will largely be available to first- and business-class passengers, although economy passengers will also see some changes, including a clock indicating the remaining time to the restart of programming.

Premium-class passengers can create their own in-flight ‘juke box’ - a new feature enabling them to compile their own music play list from 100 CDs.
