Campaign to push Whitsundays in winter
 
The Whitsundays region will be promoted as an ideal winter destination in a new $800,000 advertising campaign aimed at those living in southern Australia.

The campaign, which will run until the end of June, is the second stage of the Whitsundays region's ‘Out of the Blue’ promotion.

Ads in the campaign will offer the promise of thawing chills and chasing the winter blues away.

Tourism Whitsundays chairman Doug Paterson said the promotional package was carefully researched and designed to maximise performance in target markets.

He said the Queensland government believed the Whitsundays offered outstanding opportunities for tourism growth, particularly in light of recent increases in air capacity and low-cost airfares to the region.
