Quest to find Australia’s smartest travel agent launched

Are you smarter than the average travel agent?

Here is your chance to prove it.

Enter Traveltrade’s inaugural Travel Pursuit quest - an exciting night of testing trivia designed to find the cleverest consultants from the most astute agencies the country has to offer.

We all know that while plenty of consumers are proficient at surfing the web, when it comes to understanding travel they are no match for travel retailers.

But do consumers really appreciate the depth of knowledge required to be a successful travel agent in 2005?

On the evening of November 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney, retailers will have the opportunity to reassert their reputation as the font of travel wisdom.

Up for grabs is not just the honour of being the country's smartest agent but also $8000 cash, including $5000 for the winning team.

The evening - which kicks off at 7pm - will feature a celebrity MC, a two-course meal and drinks.

And everyone who competes has a chance to share in thousands of dollars' worth of prizes supplied by a gallery of sponsors featuring some of the biggest names in Australian travel, including Sabre Pacific, TMS and Tourism Ireland.

Also on board are KEA Campers, Star Cruises, Cathay Pacific, Walt Disney, Amadeus, Virgin Atlantic and TIAS Technology.

Registration is free but no more than 66 teams - containing a maximum of three travel agents, all from the same retail outlet - can take part in the inaugural event.

So if you think you've got 'the bright stuff', get smart, form a team and download a registration form off www.travelbiz.com.au or email kylie.woodward@reedbusiness.com.au
