STOPOVER EN ROUTE TO EUROPE

he steady increase in demand for Egypt can be attributed to record air capacity flying to the destination, according to wholesalers.

Emirates and Royal Jordanian are proving popular choices for Australian travellers heading to the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Royal Jordanian area manager Iain Ferguson said that increasingly Australian travellers were stopping off in Egypt on the way to Europe .

Royal Jordanian has daily flights to Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh and four flights a week to Alexandria from its hub in Amman.

“Australian travellers have the advantage of arriving and leaving Egypt through any of these three international gateways,” Ferguson said.

“This increases flexibility and choice of land arrangements creates more itinerary options, and with no more backtracking means that more places can be visited in a specified period of time.”

With Royal Jordanian joining the Oneworld alliance early next year, the regional fleet is being upgraded with new A321s and A320s featuring new business and economy cabins, new Crown (superior business class) seats and in-seat videos in both classes.
