WATCH: Qantas plane carrying Royals forced to abort landing

As you should very well know, the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in town.

And after completeing a tour of Fiji and Tonga, the couple were set to land back in Sydney on Friday – but their plane had to abort the landing.

The plane was supposed to land on the runway on Friday afternoon, but had to circle back after another plane failed to move out of the way in time.

According to the ABC, Sydney Airport confirmed the incident – and a video showed the aircraft dipping down to land then basically taking off again to avoid hitting the other plane square on.

The plane landed safely at 5:55pm (AEDT) and the royal couple, who attended the Invictus Games closing ceremony in Sydney on Saturday, safely disembarked.

A Qantas spokesperson said the aircraft was forced to abort its landing and perform a “go-around”, the ABC reported. However, the spokesperson did not confirm how close the plane was to landing on the runway before gaining altitude again.

On the plus side, the Qantas pilot told the passengers they’d have another great view of the harbour. Which sure beats being in a plane crash, if you ask us.
