Vale Peter Windsor

Peter Windsor, one of the travel industry’s pre-eminent wholesalers and trailblazers, passed away on Friday 26 April 2019 at 82 years of age.

Windsor began his travel career at the RACV touring department running escorted tours to the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme with Ansett-ANA and Ansett Pioneer.

In 1964, Windsor was approached to join Japan Tourist Bureau (JTB), and was appointed its general manager two years later.

Windsor also held top roles at a number of other travel companies in the years following, including Jetset Tours, Tour World and Prima Holidays, before teaming up with his son Mark to start World Holidays.

Windsor retired from the industry in 2000 after an illustrious career spanning over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Silvana; their four children, Mark, Kim, David and Catherine; and eight grandchildren.
