The only Aussie property to make the Top 100 Hotels In The World list

Just six months after re-opening its lavish doors, The Langham, Sydney has been ranked as one of the Top 100 Hotels In The World by the highly regarded, Robb Report.

The Sydney city hotel was the only property in Australia or New Zealand to be listed in the annual report, which compiles the world’s most exclusive hotels, villas and luxury retreats.

“We are humbled to be recognised on a global level; and in the company of the world’s finest luxury hotels” Langham Sydney General Manager, Sonia Lefevre, said.

The Langham, Sydney, previously The Observatory Hotel, was purchased by the group in 2012 from Orient Express and rebranded in the same year before unveiling redesign plans in 2014. The 98-room re-development was executed in four short months with doors re-opening late last year.

“Sydney is a glamorous city, like Paris, London or New York and there is no secret we had hoped to cater to people who are aspirational about those style of cities; therefore to be recognised as one of the best hotels in the world so early in our repositioning journey, means we have certainly delivered what we set out to achieve.”

Other prestigious properties to make the coveted list include The St. Regis New York, Austria’s famous Hotel Sacher Wien and The Waldorf Astoria Beijing.
