The hottest way to add $$ to your bottom line

Plant growing from coin jar

There’s a sneaky new way you can add more dollars to your money pot as a travel agent, and it comes fresh from recent research.

With more travellers turning to their smartphones to book experiences mid-trip, there’s an obvious market you could be benefitting from, just by helping clients book full packages and activities in advance.

A report from Criteo showed travellers are leaving heaps of their bookings until they’re right in the thick of their holiday.

When it comes to in-destination bookings, 75 per cent are booking day trips and excursions, 62 per cent are booking theme parks, 51 per cent are booking ticketed events like sports games and concerts, while around 45 per cent are booking both cultural attractions and dining out.

A further 37 per cent book outdoor activities like canoeing and rock climbing in-destination.

Traditionally, this has been an area travel agents have just overlooked due to it being so time-consuming, but thankfully not anymore!

The new in-destination content available via Amadeus Selling Platform Connect has thousands of tours and activities available for booking in real-time, in the most straightforward manner ever.

It’s easy to search and book then and there as you sit with your client, and there’s more than enough options to keep them happy.

But the added bonus is that extra revenue you’ll be scooping when you book these trips. In addition, the partnership between Amadeus and Livn Experiences allows clients to still book these experiences in-destination with a specific agent URL, meaning the agent still gets the commission for it!

This rare opportunity is something new for agents, and gives their clients flexibility and support to book trusted, exceptional tours and activities.

Not only does this show an agent is willing to go the extra mile for their client, creating a seamless and organised itinerary, but it gives agents a chance to tap into a few extra dollars they’d otherwise be completely missing.
