Police operations at the Sydney Opera House and across the harbour in Manly have now concluded.

Authorities conducted simultaneous operations on Thursday afternoon.

“Following information on social media, police conducted an operation in the vicinity of the Opera House and Manly as a precautionary measure,” police said.

The forecourt of the Opera House was cleared at around 2pm with police erecting metal barriers.

A Sydney Opera House tour guide said she had been leading tourists around the building when police arrived.

“My tour was stopped mid tour… now I can’t get back in,” she told AAP.

The operation caused a cancellation and delays to ferries from Manly to Circular Quay.
