Sneak peek: The new Queen Kapiolani Hotel

The Queen Kapiolani Hotel has started to undergo its $30 million renovation – and we’re getting excited.

Okay, we might be getting ahead of ourselves – but wait till you see the pictures.

The Queen Kapiolani Hotel, Waikiki, is set to blow everyones minds with a substantial upgrade – and won’t even shut down completely during renovations.

The renovations are being overseen by The John Hardy Group International, who have worked on the likes of the Four Seasons Resort Lanai renovations and the conversion of the Waikiki Trade Center into the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach. So we know the final product will be amazing.

The hotel is almost 50 years old, but is in a stella location – just a few minutes walk to Waikiki Beach and right opposite the Honolulu Zoo. It has 19 floors, a terrace and a restaurant; both of which are currently closed and under renovation.

The hotel has big plans and, luckily for us, have released photos of what the hotel will look like once it’s finished.

The project, announced in July and underway right this minute, includes: A refresh of the lobby:

And a refresh of the hotel rooms.

Plus a renovation of the restaurant and bar.

And the outside terrace (the view doesn’t need renovating though).

Plus an upgrade on the hotels fitness centre, pool deck and general outdoor and indoor spaces.
