Skroo VS Luxon in epic rugby battle

Skroo VS Luxon in epic rugby battle

Valentine’s Day wasn’t a big love fest for everyone it seems, as two major travel organisations faced off in an epic battle to the death. Just kidding, it was a slightly less epic game of rugby.

Regardless, competition was rife as Flight Centre and Air New Zealand took the field in opposition, led by Air NZ CEO Christopher Luxon and Flight Centre CEO Graham ‘Skroo’ Turner.

Refereed by Warriors Halfback, Shaun Johnson, the two teams took to Victoria Park in Auckland with a thirteen man team on each side in the interest of supporting wellbeing in both organisations and as part of an ongoing friendly sporting rivalry between airline and agent.

“It’s a unique opportunity to engage with one of our key partners in a casual and active event,” said Cam Wallace, Air New Zealand’s chief revenue officer, nursing a bruised face (we’re just imagining).

“We hope to continue this tradition in coming years.”

Flight Centre took home the trophy with a final score of six points to Air New Zealand’s four points.

    1. rugby(a religion in NZ) has 15 players on field at any one time, not 13. League(does anyone in NZ really play that funny game?) has 13 players on field at any one time, sometimes more, as most leagies can’t count beyond 3.
