Rail Europe gives Paris some love

Rail Europe has launched a new #ParisWeLoveYou campaign designed to keep building confidence in travelling to Paris which took a hit after recent terror attacks.

Manager Australasia Ingrid Kocijan confirmed that Rail Europe had seen sales of France train travel fall by 25% in Australia in November, when the attacks took place.

“But since the beginning of this year bookings have steadily increased to more than 50% for both France Rail Passes & TGVs in France,” she said.

Kocijan revealed that, although the three-day France Rail Pass has traditionally been the top-selling product for Aussies, passes for longer periods of six or nine days are growing in popularity.

“This is indicative of Australian travellers’ confidence in travelling to and around France,” she said.

The new offer gives agents access to point-to-point tickets on Lyria, Alleo, Thalys and France-Spain High Speed services starting from $28.

Agents with clients travelling between London and Paris via the Eurostar between 4 July and 31 August can also take advantage of one-way fares of $62 during off peak travel times and $84 during peak hours of Friday – Saturday noon and Sunday to Monday noon.

Finally, agents can continue to pass on the 20% discount across all of the France Rail Pass products to their clients until May 3.

Rail Europe tickets are distributed by Rail Plus, Rail Tickets, CIT Holidays and Infinity Rail in Australia
