Plane severely damaged in hail storm

If the weather in Sydney right now is enough to send you hiding under the table, go ahead and click right out of this story.

Because horrific photos have surfaced of an American Airlines plane post hail storm, and they’re enough to make us never want to fly in bad weather again.

Even a sprinkling of rain would be too much after seeing these.

After flying through a hailstorm, the plane was extremely dented, and the windshield was cracked and completely broken.

Insane, right? The hail had worn down the paint on the nose of the plane and left it caved in.

According to Seven News, the flight from San Antonio was bound for Phoenix when it had to emergency land.

There were five crew members and 130 passengers on board, some of which were vomiting during the storm.

As the pilots could barely see through the damaged windshield, the flight landed in El Paso, where another plane finished the remaining duration to Phoenix a few hours later.

One passenger told KENS-TV in San Antonio he looked out the window to lightning and hail as the plane started to drop “like a rollercoaster”.

“I could see people starting to panic and crying and I couldn’t breathe,” another woman said.

On Monday, an airline spokesman said that the American Airlines plane was awaiting repairs for the extensive damage to the nose, windshield panels and a cockpit side window, as per Seven News.

He also said the none of the engine parts were damaged.
