Pilot ejected after yelling at passengers

FRANKFURT, GERMANY - JULY 17, 2014: United Airlines aircraft logo at an aircraft in Frankfurt. United Airlines is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

United Airlines was forced to replace one of its pilots on Saturday, after she boarded the plane in regular clothing and ranted over the intercom about Donald Trump and her divorce.

The pilot made the announcements to passengers right before she was set to fly the plane from Austin, Texas, to San Francisco, and naturally passengers were left concerned.

United declined to identify the pilot, according to Business Insider, and wouldn’t comment beyond apologising to passengers.

The flight took off with a new pilots about 90 minutes after it was scheduled to fly.

One passenger, Pam O’Neal, told KPIX television, “She shows up dressed like a civilian and asked us to take a vote to see whether we should have her change into her uniform or fly as is.

“She started off by saying that she had not voted for either Trump or Clinton because they’re a bunch of liars. … It just really sort of went downhill from there and didn’t make a lot of sense to any of us,” she added.

Passenger Randy Reiss took to Twitter to recount the incident, admitting he felt nervous because the captain was clearly in the wrong mental state to fly a plane.

United spokesman Charles Hobart said the airline would not comment beyond Saturday’s statement, which said, “We hold our employees to the highest standards and replaced the pilot with a new one to operate the flight, which has since departed Austin. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
