Peru Travel Mart

Peru Travel Mart

A record number of international buyers and local exhibitors were present at this year’s Peru Travel Mart (PTM).

Organised by PromPeru and Canataur (Peru’s National Chamber of Tourism), the Peru Travel Mart is the most important event on Peru’s tourism industry calendar.

164 international buyers from over 20 countries across Europe, North and South America and Asia Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand) as well as 113 exhibitors from around Peru attended the event, a 24% increase on 2014 figures.

Peruvian vendors included hoteliers, tour operators, cruise and transportation operators, government agencies, museums, and airlines.

Minister for Commerce and Tourism and president of the PromPeru Board Magali Silva Velarde-Álvarez said that of the 164 international buyers, 134 (81%) travelled to PTM for the first time in 2015, indicating their perception of Peru as a great alternative travel destination.

“Peru is able to offer the world a range of luxury services, and products with great potential for international demand,” Velarde- Álvarez said.
