Ovation of the Seas soars to new heights

With Australia’s first brand new and biggest cruise ship, Ovation of the Seas, currently making her way to our shores, comes the news the game-changing vessel and her sister ships, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas have broken a Guinness World Record for the highest viewing deck on a cruise ship.

“While the views from the top decks of most cruise ships are spectacular they only go so far,” said managing director, Royal Caribbean Australia & NZ, Adam Armstrong.  “On Ovation of the Seas, guests can experience the North Star, a viewing capsule that gently rises 90 metres above the sea, giving spectacular 360 degree views.”

“Royal Caribbean has a reputation for doing things bigger and better in the cruise industry, and we’re thrilled to add a new Guinness World Record to our resume.”

“The North Star is an engineering marvel and one of many on Ovation of the Seas, which include robotic bar tenders that mix every cocktail to perfection, the fastest internet at sea and Two70, an incredible venue with 270 degree views by day and spectacular hi-tech shows at night,” he added.

Launched in only April this year, the 4,905 guest Ovation of the Seas is the fourth largest cruise ship in the world, and will be the newest, biggest and most technologically advanced to ever sail in Australia. As well as the record breaking North Star, the US$1 billion ship will also introduce an array of incredible experiences found only on Royal Caribbean including sky diving and surfing experiences, bumper cars and a trapeze school in SeaPlex – the largest indoor activity space at sea, views in every stateroom thanks to virtual balconies, Broadway style entertainment, and much more.

Guests onboard Ovation of the Seas will also be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining, with 18 different venues onboard, including Jamie Oliver’s first Australian restaurant at sea, Jamie’s Italian, as well as Michael’s Genuine Pub, the enchanting Wonderland and Royal Caribbean favourites like Chops Grille steakhouse and Izumi Japanese.
