Next-gen Vibe for North Sydney

TFE Hotels next-generation of Vibe properties is set to pop up in North Sydney by 2017 as part of the redevelopment of Northpoint Tower, and follows the closure of its Milsons Point hotel.

The new-build 188-room Vibe Hotel North Sydney will also address the city’s hotel capacity issues, in particular the lack-of rooms in North Sydney CBD.

Under the management contract with Cromwell Property Group, TFE will develop the property as one of its “next-generation” Vibe Hotels, joining the recently-opened Vibe Hotel Marysville in Victoria and Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport, set to open in the fourth quarter this year.

TFE confirmed it is set to close the doors of Vibe North Sydney in Milsons Point on 31 March, after selling it to Cbus Property last year.

“We are delighted to have had 10 wonderful years with this renowned Vibe Hotel in its stunning location right beside Milsons Point; and the hotel has consistently delivered solid financial returns,” TFE Hotels ceo, Rachel Argaman said.

“This new next generation hotel will ensure Vibe Hotels remains in North Sydney, continuing to support the large corporate community in this part of Australia’s largest city.”

The next-generation Vibe Hotels brand signatures include free-Wi-Fi throughout, lounges and bars to enhance social and collective experiences, and hotels will support local charities.

“We’ll also be addressing demand among local corporates for more dedicated event and meeting space in North Sydney with a 300-capacity MICE facility within the hotel, supported by our new Creative Conferencing products and services,” Argman said.

North Sydney’s 44-storey Northpoint Tower redevelopment will include a complete overhaul of the existing retail offering with a new-build Vibe Hotel on the northern edge of the site.

“There’s a noticeable gap between supply and demand for quality hotel accommodation and meeting facilities in North Sydney. The redevelopment of the Northpoint Tower site is an excellent opportunity to address that gap and diversify the asset,” Cromwell Property Group, associate director, Rob Percy said.
