Midweek interview with Julie Pratt, AAT Kings

We chat with Julie Pratt, State Sales Manager VIC at AAT Kings.

The challenge for the industry is… The world is an ever changing place and things can change rapidly-you just have to be ready for the unexpected.

The things I like about my job…Talking to my agents about a destination that I love. As well as, listening to the radioand singing at the top of my voice with my team.

And the frustrations are … Losing radio reception on regional runs.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be… A thermomix demonstrator. Ive joined the cult of thermomixes.

Favourite airline? Any airline that gets me where I want to go

My proudest moment was… Giving birth to my 2 boys. – Lucas 4 years, Thomas 2 years.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… Now that would be telling… julie-pratt

I try to relax by… Going on holidays, drinking cocktails and getting massages. Doesn’t have to be in that order.

The last time I feared for my life was… on a recent flight from Albury to Sydney where we encountered severe turbulence. I was on a small plane and felt every bump. I was worried we weren’t going to make it. Having seen “Sully” recently at the cinema I had confidence that if we did land on the water that we would be ok.

If I can, I always try to avoid… Hook turns. I hate them with a passion.

I really wish I had… More time to explore the world.

The best advice I’ve ever received was… Not everyone is the same. People are different. The world would be a boring place if everyone was the same.

I don’t understand why people… Don’t have a passport.

My greatest weakness is… Cheap flights. I can always find time for a quick getaway.

And my greatest strength is… Being assertive. My father always told me I should’ve been a lawyer.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would… Buy an expensive house, a nice car, have more kids.

If I was prime minister I would… Legalise Gay marriage.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a… Pilot. I love planes and I am fascinated by how they operate.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Alaska.

My favourite holiday was… When I spent 6 weeks travelling through Italy with my husband (PC – Pre children)
