Midweek interview with Collette’s Bradley Ellis

Midweek interview with Collette’s Bradley Ellis

This week we got up close and personal with Collette’s national sales manager Bradley Ellis until he requested we sit further away.

The challenge for the industry is…

A challenge is something that can always be overcome. So I don’t see challenges, I see opportunities and I feel the travel industry as a whole carries the same mentality. There is no challenge our industry has yet to overcome / or isn’t in the process of overcoming.

The things I like about my job…

My colleagues – It’s still early days for my time at Collette but without a doubt, our whole Australian team are a fantastic, passionate bunch.

And the frustrations are …

Travel delays (writing this from Gold Coast Airport waiting for flight back to Sydney due to weather). But, all part of the fun!

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

Whilst still in travel, of sorts, I’d love to be a pilot.

Favourite airline?

Virgin for work / Qantas as my wife works there. So hedging the bets

My proudest moment was…

Getting married in Italy with many family and friends making the huge effort to be a part of the day.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Nearly lost the license…repeatedly as a young man.

I try to relax by…

Going for a long, long run.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Ask me after/if I managed to land in Sydney this evening given the weather.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Being the last one onto the plane. Sadly this happens a lot…

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

‘Don’t worry until/if it happens’.

I don’t understand why people…

Need to rush off a plane when it lands. We’ll all get off soon!

My greatest weakness is…

Perfectionist.

And my greatest strength is…

Structure and process.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Buy a shoebox in Sydney.

If I was prime minister I would…

Plan my next holiday – would not be long before I needed it.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…

Pilot, per above. Although unsure which airline!

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

South America – the only continent I’ve not covered, yet.

My favourite holiday was…

The last one and the next one.
