Melbourne ups style with funky new hotel
Melbourne is set to welcome a fresh new apartment hotel in 2019, as TFE Hotels announces a new Adina brand for Melbourne’s West End.
Developer Trenerry Property will be behind the new Adina Grand Apartment Hotel brand, complete with stunning designs and memorable experiences via authentic foodie and communal adventures.
The West End isn’t far from Melbourne’s centre either, meaning guests and residents will be able to combine shopping with visits to West End’s day spa, 50-seat cinema or its nine bars and restaurants – all without leaving the precinct.
The hotel will occupy seven levels in one of five designer buildings in the $350m West End development with a design that incorporates elements of the rainforest and the moon, and futuristic Tron settings, with each floor distinguishable by its own individual aesthetic.
The lobby will be decorated with lush internal gardens, feature walls, lounge seating and open fire places. Guests and residents will enjoy a 25 metre glass-backed indoor lap pool and spa with its own lounge area with food and drinks service.
TFE Hotels CEO Rachel Argaman said Adina Grand Apartment Hotels would bring the next level of sophistication to the Adina brand in a series of stunning new luxury lifestyle hotels set to open in the next five years in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
“Adina Apartment Hotels are strategically located in city precincts and will offer access to curated and memorable experiences for guests and locals to eat, see, shop and play while Adina Grands will offer direct lobby access to high-end bar and dining options and spaces rich with superior finishes, opulent interiors, detailed stylish furnishings and high-end branded bathroom and minibar products in the rooms,” Argaman said.
“As hoteliers who understand developments, we are no longer just creating hotels, we are ‘place making’ – creating or curating connected retail and lifestyle spaces so that they present desirable and memorable experiences for guests and locals right on site, whether it be the coffee roasters, micro-breweries, chocolatiers, boutique shopping or the theatre and movie experience.
She said the new Adina Grand at West End marked TFE Hotels’ continued expansion into the Melbourne market.
“We see a strong future, given the amount of investment and government activity in sports, arts and tourism – so much so we are planning to operate four new hotels in Melbourne in the next three years.
“West End is set to usher in a new era in apartment living, one that is greatly enhanced by wonderful things to do at-your-door in Melbourne, but also means you can come home to an innovative space that makes apartment hotel stays an absolute joy.”
Designs will soon be unveiled for stunning new Adina Grand hotels next to Australia Square at 280 George Street in Sydney and at Queens Wharf in Brisbane, in addition to the recently announced Adina Grand set to open in Canberra in 2020, which will provide access to a purpose-built “Theatre Lane” – an activated laneway serving as a foodie and retail lifestyle precinct.
Trenerry Property director Robert DiCintio said the hotel’s services would be available to residents of the 350 apartments as part of West End’s commitment to nurturing a lifestyle where everything is at one’s fingertips, including a 24-hour concierge.
“This is about integrating the life of a hotel into the energy of a residential environment for the benefit of all,” DiCintio said.
“It is testament to the growth potential of West Melbourne – and its proximity to the city and Melbourne’s legal and medical precincts – that a travel giant such as Adina has come on board to help us realise our vision.”
Argaman also noted the appeal of the development’s inclusive and vibrant neighbourhood.
“The restaurants, cafes and parklands provide a great opportunity for guests and the general public to come together and enjoy the area,” she said.
“West End will be a living, breathing part of the city and this will be a big drawcard for those drawn to the idea of living like a local when they travel.”
Construction starts in May 2017 with the hotel set to welcome guests in late 2019.
