Melbourne beats Paris, London and Rome in best cities ranking

Sydney and Melbourne have been ranked within the top ten best cities ranking in the 2018 Conde Nast Readers Choice Awards!

And guess what? We beat Paris, Vienna and Rome!

Melbourne was ranked third, after Kyoto and Tokyo, with Sydney coming in sixth, cementing the Victorian capital’s status as a world-class travel destination.

Even if it does mean they’ve won this round in the eternal battle between Sydney and Melbourne, we’re willing to swallow our pride and rule this up as a win for Australia.

Conde Nast describes Melbourne as “sophisticated, stylish, and seemingly free-spirited”, commending its incredible arts scene and coffee culture.

Sydney, on the other hand, was applauded for its rock pools, “cool-kid ‘hood of Surry Hills” and a vibrant arts and culture calendar through Vivid Sydney.
