Another day, another story of a passenger being a jerk on a plane.

A man was arrested after attempting to trip over a flight attendant and refusing to turn his phone off on a Rex flight from Adelaide Airport to Broken Hill.

Aged only 23, the male passenger was taken into custody at Adelaide Airport on Sunday afternoon.

According to The Advertiser, the passenger’s anti-social behaviour meant the flight, which had already driven onto the runway, was forced to turn around so Australian Federal Police officers could escort the man off the plane.

A spokesperson from Rex said the incident had caused a 2 hour and 45-minute delay to the flight.

As per The Advertiser, the man was charged with Commonwealth offences which included assault/threaten/intimidate a crew member of an aircraft and endangering the safety of an aircraft.

Back in November, a similar incident took place on a Qantas flight, when a man reportedly refused to switch his tablet to flight mode as required by the cabin crew.

According to Melbourne’s 3AWthe passenger, apparently a, CEO of an unnamed company, held up the flight for about an hour when he refused this simple request.

Qantas confirmed to 3AW that a passenger on the flight “did not follow instruction with regard to an electronic device” on a flight between Canberra and Melbourne on Friday night and the plane was forced to head on back to the airport gate.

As expected, Qantas reiterated that safety is always its top priority, and they were unable to fly unless the man complied with their safety procedures for electronics.

Seriously dude, all you had to do was switch to Flight Mode.
