We don’t mean to alarm you, but – there’s only two weeks left to get yourself in the running to go on one heck of a stunning famil around gorgeous South Africa!!

And if you’ve entered with your amazing 25-words, but are yet to complete the online training course, then hop to it – without it, no matter how fab your entry is, it won’t properly be in the running until you’ve done the SA Specialist course.

Home visit by staff of the Mbekweni Clinic to the home of Nosisi Mlenze and her 9 month old daughter Senanthle in the suburb of Mbekweni, near Paarl, South Africa. The visit included setting up of air filter tests that play a crucial role in the Drakenstein Child Health Study (DCHS). The Drakenstein Child Health Study (DCHS) is a multi-year birth cohort study following 1,000 mother child pairs to investigate the epidemiology, aetiology and risk factors for childhood lower respiratory illness and the impact on child health, including the development of chronic respiratory disease.This study takes place at three sites in the Drakenstein sub-district near Cape Town, South Africa. The study aims to investigate the role and interaction of potential risk factors covering 7 areas (environmental, infectious, nutritional, genetic, psychosocial, maternal and immunological risk factors) that may impact on child health. Mothers are enrolled at 20-28 weeks gestation and children followed until they reach five years of age.
