Helloworld boosts its brand awareness

Helloworld is kicking its social media into gear to boost its overall brand awareness.

Helloworld agents will be reaping the rewards of a world-first, global social media initiative #helloworldRELAY which will grow brand awareness, customer engagement and firmly entrench helloworld as ‘Experts in Everywhere’.

On September 27, Instagrammers around the world will post until the sun sets in their location, kicking off with sunrise in Samoa and travelling around the world to finish at sunset in the Cook Islands 36 hours later.

A total of 75 locations have been confirmed across five continents and 60 countries including New Zealand, Fiji, Peru, Kenya, Oman, Monaco, Thailand, Vanuatu, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Singapore, with partners Brand USA, VisitBritain, Insider Journeys and Intrepid providing support to bring the relay to life.

Each location will host an Instagram meet up as part of the #helloworldRELAY for two hours, widening the reach to other social media enthusiasts and travellers at each location.

Key tourism bodies including VisitBritain, Brand USA and Singapore Tourism Board have jumped on board with the project, with helloworld partnering with more than 60 countries and 75 Instagram influencers.

The event will take place on World Tourism Day, September 27, and will showcase helloworld itineraries created with destination partners.

Helloworld’s chief marketing officer Kim Portrate said the #helloworldRELAY project would help enhance the company’s image as being experts in literally everywhere.

“Approximately five million Australians check into Instagram every month with 70% of those users active every day,” she said.

“The #helloworldRELAY is a unique opportunity to inspire travellers and showcase the expertise of helloworld agents and the itineraries that can be created by helloworld agents or booked online.”

“helloworld agents take great pride in being able to offer customers holidays that go beyond expectations and showcase the depth of their expertise. This global relay marks World Tourism Day and celebrates the significant role that tourism plays culturally and economically to our world.”

Instagram is also backing the #helloworldRELAY, according to Facebook’s head of financial services and travel Paul McCrory.

“Travel has always been a key part of Instagram and it is a beautiful canvas to engage with a community of passionate and aspiring travelers. helloworld has created an innovative use of the platform and they will be the first travel brand in Australia to embrace our Marquee product.”

Track the relay by following @helloworldAU on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter or go online at relay.helloworld.com.au  or simply search #helloworldRELAY.
