Giddy up, slow pokes! The first entry for our Women in Travel Awards is already in

Nominations are open for the eagerly awaited Women in Travel Awards—Travel Weekly’s celebration of the most brilliant women in the travel industry.

First out of the blocks for the second year running is Travel Managers’ Colleen Lacey—a specialist in Hawaiian, Japanese and South Pacific travel.

“I also have heaps of experience with Weddings at seas and large group cruising,” she said.

Lacey has entered Cruise—a category celebrating the achievements of travel agents on the high seas.

This year’s Women in Travel Awards sees the introduction of two new categories: Executive Leader of the Year, and, one that we’re especially proud of—Sustainable Practices Champion.

Here’s the list of all fields to be judged:

  • Employer of the Year
  • Social Media
  • Road and Rail
  • Retail
  • Corporate
  • Rising Star of the Year
  • Marketer of the Year
  • PR of the Year
  • Sales Person of the Year
  • Wholesale
  • Cruise
  • Aviation
  • Tourism Board
  • Technology
  • Hotel
  • Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Executive Leader of the Year; and
  • Sustainable Practices Champion.

Entrants are welcome to apply to more than one category, provided their submissions meet our advertised criteria.

We also encourage our residing Queens of the Hill to re-enter for this year’s event. If you won last year—redefend your title! Lay down the gauntlet. Demand satisfaction, etc.

Do you have someone that inspires you? Someone you admire, and just don’t know how to thank? Or maybe there’s that frenemy in the office that secretly knows you’re stealing their guacamole from the fridge. Admit it. You know, deep down, they’re better than you.

On top of nominating yourself, entrants are also welcome to nominate other travel agents in the field!

You can submit your Women in Travel Awards entry here, and/or nominate a peer here.

You can find all the information you’ll ever need on the event at the Women in Travel website.
